When I was still in school one of the language that most of the students always speak about is
" all I want is the school certificate "
" all I want is the school certificate "
Many students go to school studying a course they may never use in their workplace or career.
They walk in the rain and sun just to get that school certificate.
After graduation they start looking for a job with that same school certificate and most of them don't get the job.
My question to you today is this;
Imagine organisations don't ask for school certificate as one of the things you need to show you aew qualified for the job, what will you then do to get the job.
Many people I know today have trusted their school certificate to bail them out of poverty and lack of finances but to no avail.
There are many reasons why a lot of graduates are carrying the name BSC, OND, HND but are still broke and living in penury.
Now I am not saying getting school certificate is bad but not understanding how to live financially free with or without the certificate is my concern.
Tonight I will be talking about the first reason why many people are still broke despite having a school certificate.
1. SELF IGNORANCE
Many things I do today are product of my disengagement from self ignorance.
While I was in school, I didn't have understanding and full realization of myself and that made me miss lot of opportunities that would have helped me.
A lot of people who go to school and graduate never sit down to ask themselves what I call
" THE SELF DISCOVERY QUESTIONS "
" THE SELF DISCOVERY QUESTIONS "
Questions like
A. Who am I
B. Why do I exist
C. What am I created to do
D. What do I have passion for
E. What am I gifted In and many other questions to stir up self awareness of your real self.

Many people don't do self research on themselves.
I do research on myself a lot and the things I find out amazes me.
When you don't know who you are, what you exist for and what you are loaded with then your school certificate becomes like a tissue paper.
Your self awareness gives your school certificate the tag of a goldmine because when organisations hear you speak from the place of self awareness they will want to ask you again what you read and where is your school certificate.
If you don't carry out self awareness on yourself then you will end up broke even with your First class or second class upper
For those who are still in school this is a huge opportunity for you to get into a research on yourself so that when you graduate you won't carry a school certificate which won't have value.
Your school certificate becomes an asset and valuable when you carry out a self awareness program on yourself to find out your strength and capacities.
I do talk with young people a lot online and most of them are students.
One of the major things I found out about many of them is that they are just waiting to get that certificate but they don't understand that certificate without self awareness will lead to frustration and confusion.
Certificate without self awareness will make you look like a liability instead of an asset.
Self discovery is one major secret of successful men and women in the world today.
Now let me give us an illustration so we can better understand the point am explaining to us.
Emeka have been jobless for two years now and he keeps getting a no for an answer whenever he goes for an interview.
Sometimes he sleeps online applying for job but most of the organisations don't call him for interview.
I forgot to tell you that he studied business administration and he had second class upper.
While in school he always attended lectures but there was something Emeka noticed in his final year, he discovered business administration was not his passion but he just had to continue since he is about to graduate.
Two years later he is still looking for a job.
He went somewhere and he met a young man who was talking to his friend about self awareness and self discovery, so Emeka sat close by and glued his ears to the discussion.
After the young man finished, Emeka told him please Sir I want to embark on the journey of self discovery.
I have been jobless for two years, I am tired of this life.
The young man encouraged him and gave him some questions to go home and answer about self discovery.

Some of the questions were
1. Emeka what can you do that will add value to people's life without your certificate
2. Emeka what do you love doing so well that even when you are not prepared you can still do it
3. Emeka what makes you fulfilled when you do it
4. Emeka what can you do that when you are hungry you tell hunger to wait till you are done
4. Emeka what can you do that when you are hungry you tell hunger to wait till you are done
Emeka went home with those questions and he found out so many things about himself.
He started crying and lamenting only if he had met that young man two years ago.
Emeka loves cooking and when he was in school many students always talk of his food but he never took note of it that there was a calling for him into the food ministry.
The above story is the story of many students, graduates and employees.
They don't have self awareness of their passion, gifts and talents.
This is why they carry school certificate yet they are still broke because your certificate won't make you influential, wealthy and impactful in your generation unless you have discovered yourself.
